Weekend fun: Disney show, go outside, big game, more

Free days: In honor of Martin Luther King Day, fees will be waived at some outdoor areas. National Forests lands will be free on Monday*. State parks lands will be free on Sunday and Monday. Get more info here.

Get loud: Seahawks supporters are planning a rally in support of the team at 12:12 p.m. on Friday in Everett. Elaine Zimmerman of Everett is organizing the event. She says she wants to “celebrate the success of the best team in the NFC and the 12th man.” The 12th man flag will be raised and early arrivals for the rally will get Seahawks beads. The rally is in the plaza in front of the Everett Courthouse. Come dressed in your Hawks gear and be ready to get loud.

Music Everett Music Initiative teams up with Summer Meltdown Festival Friday night to bring four great bands to downtown Everett. Everett’s own Preacher’s Wife will be joined on stage by up and coming Seattle bands Smokey Brights, Bellamaine and Ruler. The show will be at Kroakers on Rucker and music starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $10 and the show is 21 and over.

Musical for kids: See the junior musical production of “Beauty and the Beast” at Village Theatre’s KidStage. Shows are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 2730 Wetmore Ave., Everett. The musical is based on the animated film and includes all the favorite songs. Get more info here.

Vaudeville: The Historic Everett Theatre is bringing back that classic vaudeville-style variety show for one night only, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be comedy, a fire dancer, a juggler and more. Get more info in our story here.

Theater: “Self Composed,” a new play by a Bellingham author, will show for this weekend only in Edmonds. The play is about the difficulty of the teen years. It’s suggested for ages 13 and older due to mature content. The show is at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 950 Main St. Get more info here.

The big game: Catch the Seahawks’ playoff game on a big screen at Historic Everett Theatre on Sunday. It’s free. If you want lunch, that’s $12, including a beverage. Beer and wine are available for sale and the concessions stand will be open. All ages are welcome. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. The theater is at 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. “Les Miserables”: Village Theatre’s big production of the musical is Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at the Everett Performing Arts Center. Get more info in our story here.

Mickey: Kids can see a show with the famous mouse and his friend during three shows on Sunday at Comcast Arena. The show is meant for young kids. Get more info in our story here.

Planes: Learn about the fascinating stories of the Vickers Supermarine. Historian and educator Barry Latter will talk about what was then the world’s best interceptor, the Spitfire. All with an English accent. There will be tea and biscuits. It’s at the Historic Flight Foundation at noon on Saturday. Get more info here.

Walk in the woods: Explore the woods in winter Saturday at the Brightwater Center in Woodinville. Walk the trails with a naturalist starting at 10 a.m. After the walk enjoy hot beverages by a fire. Get more here. Preregistration is requested, although the event is free. For kids 3 and older.
