KELSO — An inmate in the Cowlitz County Jail died Monday morning. The sheriff’s office says corrections officers found him unconscious and he could not be revived. He was alone and appeared normal a half-hour earlier during a cell check.
He’s identified as 22-year-old Daniel Dee Bush of Longview. He had been booked into jail Jan. 13 to serve time for convictions on assault and drug charges and communicating with a minor for immoral purposes.
An autopsy was conducted Monday afternoon, and Coroner Tim Davidson said the cause of death is pending the result of tests that will take several weeks to complete.
