Mystery egg turns up — with Seahawks logo
On Monday morning, a giant egg bearing the team’s logo and the number “12” showed up on a farm between Maltby and Monroe.
“That’s a good theory,” said Brock Ricci, whose parents, Darrell and Joanne, own the farm where the egg appeared.
Ricci said his family, which has farmed in the area since 1890, isn’t behind the mystery egg.
Family members first spotted it in a grass field about 50 yards from his parents’ house. There were no tracks, no apparent clues.
“You could smell fresh paint on it,” he said.
It appears to be the same mystery egg that showed up on the Ricci’s farm and at nearby spots nearly a year ago, before disappearing after Easter, Ricci said. “We’ve never been able to catch anybody red-handed. It just shows up and disappears.”
So far, the egg this year hasn’t moved since arriving and is visible from Elliott Road. It has gotten plenty of looks from passersby, he said.
“I think it’s just somebody having some fun with us and with the community,” Ricci said.
The egg is about six feet long, four feet in diameter and appears to be hollow.
But who knows, maybe the Vince Lombardi Trophy is inside.
