Everett wrestlers finish second to Ferndale at districts

MARYSVILLE — Five Everett wrestlers advanced to championship bouts and six more finished third to punch tickets to regionals but the Seagulls were no match from the wrestlers from up north.

Quentin Watson was Everett’s lone champion at 145 pounds, beating Marysville Getchell’s Daniel Knowlton 3-2 in the title match.

Stanwood’s Jacob Cole beat teammate West Weinert 28-23 in a wild championship bout and Foster Wasde beat Ferndale’s Hunter Grunhurd 8-1 at 195.
