EVERETT — Police on Friday found a baby they were searching for under an Amber Alert.
The child and mother were located in an apartment in the 100 block of W. Casino Road. Child Protective Services, a division of the Department of Social and Health Services, believed the newborn was in grave danger and needed immediate medical attention.
He was born in a hotel room Jan. 27 and had not received medical screening, Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said.
Everett police issued the Amber Alert for Roshell Marie Turner, 31, Thursday evening.
She has had seven other children, but none were in her custody, officials said.
Turner was found at the apartment just after 1 p.m. Friday.
The baby was examined by Everett Fire Department medics and was transported to a local hospital for additional treatment, Everett police Lt. John DeRousse said.
Turner was taken into custody for questioning Friday.
The child will be placed with Child Protective Services while a determination is made on where he should live, DeRousse said.
Turner was being booked for two misdemeanor warrants on Friday.
Meanwhile, “police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the birth of this child,” DeRousse said.
