Everett band Fauna Shade is making some big moves in a hurry. It feels like just a few months ago that I first heard about these guys. Next thing I knew they were opening for bands like Motopony and LAKE, they were just announced as one of the bands playing Everett’s new Fisherman’s Village Music Festival, and they got accepted into EMP’s Sound Off! competition. Lots of bands don’t accomplish that in a few years let alone months.
Well, the three 21 year olds from Everett who make up Fauna Shade (Scotty Smith, RylieSmith, and Eduardo Contreras) have found themselves in the Sound Off! finals this Saturday night. While they didn’t win their semifinal round the judges weren’t ready to send these guys home yet and gave them the wild card entry to the finals.
Front man Scotty Smith had this to say about the experience:
“Sound Off! has been such an experience, between the friends we’ve made (Nabii!), the talent we’ve seen and rubbed elbows with (possibly bloodied), and all the compliments and smiles we’ve received. It’s been wonderful and it all came from doing something we love with all our hearts, music.”
You can go to the Sound Off! finals and root for Fauna Shade this Saturday at 7pm at EMP. Tickets are $8 for students and $12 for the general public.
