Weekend fun: Plant sale, drumming, Irish dancing and more

Gardening:Seattle Tilth's edible plant sale is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. This sale features plants specifically chosen to grow well in our climate. Admission is free. In addition to shopping for plenty of plant starts, you can also attend classes. Get more info here.
Rat-a-tat: Edmonds Lutheran Church is offering drum lessons (drums provided) from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the church at 23525 84th Ave. W., Edmonds. Bill Matthews of Fremont Drum leads the session. A $10 donation is suggested, but no one will be turned away. For more information call 206-719-6449.
Goldilocks: See the story of Goldilocks, with a twist, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday at the PUD auditorium in Everett. Tickets are $10. Get more info here.
The jig is on: You don't have to be Irish to enjoy a good hooley, a gathering of singing, dancing and Celtic camaraderie. The party's on at Tim Noah Thumbnail Theater at 7:30 Saturday night featuring Irish dancers Farraige Mhor and you. Take part at the open mike ($3) or just watch ($5). Learn to skate: Comcast Community Ice Rink is offering an open house from 2:15 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. Sunday. There will be skating demonstrations and mini group lessons. It's free, including skate rentals. Get more info here.
Bein' green: More Irish song, dance and history abounds at Seattle Center's Irish Week festival Saturday and Sunday. Shop for authentic Irish arts and crafts and watch Irish films. Go here for more information.
Ogre there: See "Shrek, The Musical," at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Stanwood High School. Tickets at the door are $9 for adults and $8 for students. The show is at the high school Performing Arts Center, 7400 272nd St. NW. Get more info here.
Starts with T: You can catch performances of Arlington High School's production of "The Music Man." It shows at 7 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. The play's at Byrnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd. Tickets are $8 and $10. See more info here.
Chickens: Learn about raising chickens and gardening at a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. The workshop is in the meeting room at Coldwell Banker Bain at 108 Fifth Ave., Edmonds. Master gardener Bea Randall will show slides illustrating her humorous, but instructive, experiences raising chickens.
