Got my bachelor’s in well-la-dee-dah: Recently three community colleges in Seattle dropped the “community” from their names, they say, to better reflect that the bachelor of applied science degrees they offer are more advanced than the associate’s degrees offered at most community colleges.
The decision to change the name came from college administrators who earned master’s degrees in applied pomposity.
