Weekend fun: Distillery festival, music, fashion, gardening

Distillery Festival: Snohomish on the Rock Distillery Festival is Saturday. There are two sessions, one from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and one from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It’s at Thomas Family Farm, 9010* Marsh Road, Snohomish. The festival will feature 30 Northwest distilleries. Weddings: Need some ideas on finding the perfect dress, where to host the big day, and, most importantly, cupcakes, cake pops or wedding cake? The Everett Spring Wedding Expo hits Comcast Conference Center on Saturday and Sunday. Details and tickets are here.

Women only: Firefighters on the runway grab your attention? How about cute dogs dressed to kill? They’re all part of the Northwest Women’s Show at CenturyLink Field Event Center Saturday and Sunday. The annual show features health ideas, fashions, entertainment and ways to improve and inspire. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. CenturyLink is at 1000 Occidental Ave., Seattle. Classic chorale: The Sno-King Community Chorale presents “Musica da Coro” at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Northshore Performing Arts Center, 18125 92nd Ave. NE, Bothell. The concert includes Gounod’s St. Cecilia Mass, American gospel selections and a guest appearance by the Cascade Youth Symphony. Tickets are $5 to $17. Paws here: The Monroe Library is offering a Reading With Rover session from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday. Rover doesn’t do the reading, but he’s a good listener for children to strengthen their reading aloud skills and build confidence. The event is for school-age children at the library at 1070 Village Way. Call 360-794-7851, ext. 4141 for more information. Rover’s pals, Gus and Mason, will lend their floppy ears to kids at the Arlington Library from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday also. The Arlington Library is at 135 N. Washington Ave. Call 360-435-3033.

Garden: A new gardening group will hold its second meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Arlington Utility Office Building, 154 Cox Ave. Learn about sustainable garden design, with tips and tricks for saving money and still getting great results. Cost is $4 if it’s your first meeting and $1 for each following meeting. Call 360-435-3892 with questions.

Boat show: The Anacortes Spring Boat Show is Friday to Sunday. There will be more than 100 power and sail boats. You can meet with aftermarket vendors, rigging companies, sail makers and more. More information here.

Water: A celebration of World Water Day is 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Brightwater Center in Woodinville. There will be activities for all ages including crafts, outdoor exploration and science experiments. More info here.

Music Hear “Over the Rainbow and Under the Sea” performed at a free family show by the Monroe Community Concert Band. It’s at 2 p.m. Sunday at 639 W. Main St., Monroe. There will be music from many children’s musicals. Donations accepted for Seattle Children’s Hospital.

Picasso: Learn about the art of Picasso at the Everett Public Library at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Rebecca Albiani of the Frye museum will speak about his career and his influence on art.
