Calling all bike-repair volunteers. Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop has a pile of beat-up kids’ bikes that need some loving care so they can be turned around for the Kids Bike Swap on June 8.
Sharing Wheels is holding six work parties to repair and clean the bikes. No special skills are required and snacks will be provided.
The work parties are 6 to 9 p.m. April 10 and 24, May 22 and June 4, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 10 and June 1.
Sharing Wheels is also looking for more donations of lightly used kid-size bikes, especially 20- and 24-inch wheel sizes.
The June 8 swap is a chance for your child to trade up to a bigger or better bike. Bring in the old wheels and trade them for the one of the reconditioned bikes.
There may be nominal cost depending on the condition of the trade-in.
Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop is in the alley at 2531 Broadway, Everett. For more information see Sharingwheels.org or call 425-971-0199.
