LONGVIEW — Cowlitz County Prosecutor Sue Baur says she plans to extradite John Wayne Thomson from California to stand trial for the slaying death of Longview resident Lori Hamm in 2006.
Thomson was formally sentenced to death Friday in San Bernardino, Calif., for a fatal stabbing that was part of a 2006 crime spree.
Baur told The Daily News that she’s bringing Thomson back to Washington because Hamm’s family deserves to see him punished for his alleged crimes.
She says she expects the court process to begin in six months if Thomson doesn’t fight extradition.
Thomson is suspected of killing James Ehrgott, 73, of Spokane, and the 36-year-old Longview woman before fleeing to California.
