EVERETT — A Mountlake Terrace man already under police investigation in the stabbing death of his roommate has new legal troubles.
A judge on Friday found probable cause to hold Toby Sauceda, 20, for investigation of voyeurism.
Sauceda has been accused in the March 29 death of his roommate Forest Jackson, a 2011 Mountlake Terrace High School graduate. He’s being held on $1 million bail for investigation of second-degree murder.
Witnesses in the apartment when the stabbing occurred called police to say that they’d locked themselves in a room and that the suspect had fled.
Sauceda reportedly called 911 himself and said he’d fatally stabbed his friend, according to police reports. He surrendered without incident.
Officers said the victim had a cut to his neck that was at least 3 inches long. He was dead when aid crews arrived.
Witnesses said they were asleep in the apartment and awoke to screaming.
The suspect told police that he struggles with addiction to prescription medication and that somebody had taken his money.
Two days before the stabbing, police allege that Sauceda provided prescription drugs to a young woman. The drugs caused her to become heavily intoxicated and incapable of consent.
He then allegedly convinced her to undress and took his clothes off.
He reportedly kissed her and she blacked out in her bedroom.
During the course of the homicide investigation, Sauceda’s cellphone was seized as evidence. Police found a naked picture of the woman on the phone.
The woman told police she had no knowledge of the photograph being taken and would never have consented, police wrote.
