LANGLEY — South Whidbey showcased its pitching and offense in a doubleheader sweep of Sultan on Friday in Cascade Conference action.
Falcons’ pitchers Brent Piehler and Ricky Muzzy combined to shutout the Turks 6-0 in the first game. Nick Bennett went 2-for-3 and South Whidbey broke open the contest with five runs in the sixth inning.
That production carried over to game two as the Falcons compiled 11 runs in the first three innings and went on to triumph 18-8 in six innings. Jake Sladky batted 4-for-5 and Piehler added three hits. Dustin Lindahl doubled twice for the Tigers.
