LA CONNER — The Darrington baseball team swept a doubleheader against Cedar Park Christian-Mountlake Terrace on Friday.
In game one, Andrew Young led the Loggers’ offense, going 3-for-4 and driving in a pair of runs to spur Darrington to a 5-3 win, which was the Loggers’ first Northwest 1A/2B league win of the season. Young also struck out five in relief to preserve the victory for starter Trent Green. Frank Pina had two RBI and scored one run for the Lions.
Darrington’s game two starter, Cooper Young, recorded five strikeouts and limited the Lions to one run as the Loggers won 4-1 in a five-inning, non-league game.
Both games were played at La Conner High School to lessen the travel time for each school.
