EDMONDS — Detectives have released a sketch of the man wanted in an attempted robbery and sexual assault in Edmonds last week.
The detectives worked with the victim and witnesses on the sketch, which was released Monday.
An Edmonds Community College exchange student was attacked as she was walking home from a bus stop on Thursday.
The attack was reported as about 6:20 p.m. at 75th Avenue W. and 230th Street SW, Edmonds police Sgt. Mark Marsh said.
Two passersby heard the woman crying for help and saw a man running away, Marsh said. The man ran westbound on 230th Street SW and then northbound along 76th Avenue W. The man then got into a van and drove north on Highway 99.
The suspect is described as white, in his late 30s and about 6-foot and 180 pounds. He was clean shaven and wore an orange jacket or sweatshirt and dark pants with a blue baseball cap. The van is believed to be a white Chevrolet model with a ladder rack on top and windows on the sides.
