KENNEWICK, Wash.— A man who fired the final shot at a wounded teen in Richland because he couldn’t stand to watch him twitch has been convicted of first-degree murder.
The jury returned the verdict Friday against 19-year-old John C.I. Young in Benton County Superior Court.
The Tri-City Herald reports the jury saw a video in which Young said he fired the last shot at Joshua Snapp for both Snapp’s sake and his own because he couldn’t stand to watch him twitching in the sand.
The 17-year-old Richland boy was killed on the Fourth of July. Another man, 20-year-old Joshua Hunt, also was convicted in the killing in February and sentenced to 23 years in prison. Hunt has accused Snapp of being a thief and told friends he would kill him.
