Monroe author Jesikah Sundin will talk about the story behind “Legacy,” the first installment in her Biodome Chronicles trilogy, and sign copies of the novel from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Uppercase Book Shop, 1118 E. First St., Snohomish.
Siblings born and raised inside an Earth-based experimental Mars biodome have only known a rustic medieval life rich in traditions and chivalry.
They have been groomed by The Code to build a sustainable community devoid of Outsider interference – until the unthinkable happens.
Youth cultures clash when the high technology of the Anime Tech Movement collides with the Middle Ages in a quest for truth, unfolding a story rich in mystery, betrayal and love.
The story takes place along the Salton Sea in California as well as Seattle and Mercer Island with mentions of Monroe, Snohomish and Everett.
Sundin, a 1996 Monroe High School graduate, lives in Monroe with her husband, three children, Russian-speaking Pekinese dog, red-footed tortoise and four gerbils. “Legacy” is her debut novel.
