Filling me up with your rules: Colorado, which like Washington state has legalized marijuana, is attempting to set up rules that would allow banks to do business with pot growers and sellers but not run afoul of federal law.
Among the rules banks are requesting: Pot sellers must use bank deposit bags, rather than toss crumpled twenties at tellers. Zig-Zag papers cannot be used as a deposit slip. Regardless of the extent of munchies, customers are limited to two cookies per visit.

We missed you, Rob: Following the release of a new video that reportedly shows him smoking crack cocaine in his sister’s basement, Toronto mayor Rob Ford announced he was entering treatment for alcoholism and taking a leave of absence from his campaign for re-election. “I love being your mayor and I hope you will continue to stand by me,” Ford said in a statement.
Canadians, being the exceedingly tolerant and forgiving people that they are, said, “No. No, we won’t be standing by you any longer.” They did apologize, however.

A hole in the water: Washington state is offering to take derelict boats off the hands of their owners, rather than incur cleanup costs later for abandoned vessels. Boats must be under 45 feet in length and be in bad condition.
To expand on the program, The Buzz is offering to take possession of boats over 45 feet and in good condition, particularly those with moorage.

Just before it was published, lyricist Jack Norworth went with“peanuts and Cracker Jack” because he couldn’t find a suitable rhyme for “peanuts and garlic fries.”
