EVERETT — Two houses on 23rd Street were damaged by fire Friday but no one was reported injured. The Everett Fire Department was fought “very stubborn and hard-to-extinguish attic fires in both structures,” spokesman Rick Robinson said in an email.
Firefighters responded at 11:55 a.m. to the block between Broadway and Lombard avenues and found that fire from the roof of one house was spreading to the roof of the one next door.
The residents of one house were confirmed to be outside, and the other house was in foreclosure and was not expected to have residents. The cause was unknown, Robinson said.
