UW blanks Northwestern 9-0 in NCAA softball regionals

SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies defeated the Northwestern Wildcats 9-0 in five innings on Saturday in the championship game of the NCAA regionals at Husky Softball Stadium.
Kaitlin Inglesby made the start in the circle and mowed down the Wildcats offense, allowing just five singles over the course of five innings for the Huskies (36-13).
With the win, Washington advances to its seventh consecutive Super Regionals appearance, and head coach Heather Tarr earned her 400th career victory.
The Huskies will next face the winner of the Gainesville Regional, which features 5th-seeded Florida, Florida A&M, Stetson, and UCF.
