MARYSVILLE — A SWAT team was brought in Sunday evening to arrest a 16-year-old boy suspected in another teen’s shooting.
The suspect was booked into Denney Juvenile Justice Center for investigation of first-degree assault, unlawful possession of a firearm and other offenses. Nobody was injured when the team of heavily armed officers converged on a home east of Cedarcrest Golf Course.
The teen suspected of shooting another Marysville boy, 17, in the neck early Sunday.
“This arrest is only the beginning of the investigation,” Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said. “We will continue to develop information about the incident to determine what took place and who else may have been involved.”
The shooting happened at a Marysville apartment. The victim was taken by friends to Providence Regional Medical Center.
The victim was later airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries.
