New video from RA Scion and Blake Lewis for ‘Venus in Transit’

When Seattle hip hop artist RA Scion released his “Sickle and The Sword” record last year, the track that stood out the most to me was “On Saturnalia Eve.”

In case you don’t know the story, the short version is that due to a contract dispute with his producer, RA Scion couldn’t sell the record, so in the coolest move possible he gave it away for free and reworked the whole thing with Seattle electro wizard VOX Mod.

The rebirth of “The Sickle and The Sword” is called “Sharper Tool; Bigger Weapon,” and every song has a new name. The new name for “On Saturnalia Eve” is “Venus in Transit,” and it turned out even better the second time around.

For “Venus in Transit” RA Scion teamed up with Blake Lewis, who you might remember as the American Idol season six runner-up. VOX Mod created a heavy but smooth beat that goes perfectly with RA Scion’s delivery on the track and makes the hook from Lewis even more epic.

This is another fantastic video from Mukilteo’s director Casey Sjogren who is quickly becoming the go-to fixture in the local music community for anybody wanting to make a great music video. Check it out.
