EVERETT — Longtime Everett police officer Dan Templeman was sworn in as Everett’s police chief Wednesday afternoon.
Templeman, 44, previously served as the deputy chief. He has been with the department since the early 1990s.
Templeman grew up in Lake Stevens and graduated from Lake Stevens High School and Western Washington University. He and his wife have two sons.
More than 30 men and women have served as the Everett police chief since the city incorporated in 1893.
The previous chief, Kathy Atwood, retired this spring after 25 years.
