UPDATE 2:30 p.m. — Both riders were listed in stable condition. The man is 30 and from Lynnwood; the woman, 24, of Everett. Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
EVERETT — Police in Everett are investigating whether speed was a factor when a stolen motorcycle crashed Tuesday night, sending two people to the hospital with critical injuries.
Just before 9 p.m., an officer on routine patrol approached the intersection of 75th Street SW and Hardeson Road where the accident had occurred, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said.
The officer rendered aid to the riders and called for the Everett Fire Department. Both riders were transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The ages and identities of the riders, a man and a woman, weren’t immediately known, nor was their condition available.
Traffic detectives were called to the scene to investigate.
“The initial investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Hardeson Rd and speed may be a factor,” Snell said.
The intersection was closed for about 90 minutes.
Police confirmed that the motorcycle had been stolen, Snell said.
