INDEX — Index Galena Road is to shut down intermittently next week for the filming of a movie.

The brief closures are expected between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. as crews shoot “Captain Fantastic.”

Viggo Mortensen, known for his role as Aragorn in the “Lord Of The Rings” trilogy, plays a father who must return to his six children and society after a decade of living off-the-grid in the Pacific Northwest’s forests.

The Snohomish County Department of Public Works said Drummond Media has permission to stop traffic for up to five minutes at a time. The closures are expected around the bridge just outside of Index and about two miles east of the city.

There is no detour planned. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone.
