SULTAN — Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies arrested a Sultan woman early Wednesday morning after she allegedly stabbed her neighbor in the stomach.
The victim, 52, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was being treated for life-threatening injuries. An update of his condition was not immediately available.
Detectives were told that the woman, 54, was arguing with the man around midnight. The woman allegedly pulled a knife from her back pocket and stabbed the man in the stomach, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Police have not said what sparked the argument.
After the stabbing, the woman went back inside her home. She later allowed detectives to search her house. Investigators reportedly seized a knife from the scene.
The neighbors live on 132nd Street SE.
The woman was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault. She is expected to appear before a district court judge Thursday afternoon. Until then, she is being held without bail.
