EVERETT — Police in New York last week detained and questioned a sex offender who is wanted on a Snohomish County warrant for failing to register.
Kevin Scott Miller, 45, registered as a sex offender in New York and was released. He was detained in Albany.
Miller, a Level III sex offender, recently entered the United States from Canada. He is wanted by Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives for failure to register as a sex offender.
Miller was convicted of two counts of aggravated sexual assault in Canada, where there is a non-extraditable warrant for his arrest, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Because of his previous convictions, Miller is required to register as a sex offender and regularly report in to local law enforcement. Miller failed to report June 17 and 24, according to sheriff’s detectives.
Miller told detectives he is homeless, but had been seen in Arlington and Marysville. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 175 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information about Miller’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.
