Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Mary Lambert has been pretty busy this last year between performing all over the world, including performances of “Same Love” at the VMAs with Jennifer Hudson and at the Grammys with Madonna, singing a record deal with Capitol Records and releasing her EP “Welcome To The Age Of My Body.”
Somehow in the middle of all that, the Everett native has found time to also be hard at work on her debut full length album. “My Heart On My Sleeve” is due for an October 14 through Capitol Records and will likely be met with great anticipation.
Today Lambert released the first single from the new album, “Secrets”.
“’Secrets’ might be the first fun song I’ve ever written,” Lambert said of the track. “We’re all facing battles. We’ve all had someone who has hurt us. So let’s talk about it. I believe vulnerability is what will save the world. I wanted to point the lens at myself in hopes of inspiring others to do the same. In short, this song is my dirty laundry, and that’s actually really freeing.”
