Music, beer and ice cream: What else do you need for a great Saturday night? How about lawn games? You can find all of those and more Saturday night at Snoqualmie Ice Cream in Snohomish, 21106 86th Ave. SE, at Summer Sounds on the Farm, an all ages hoedown featuring three local bands. The Cave Singers, Lonesome Shack and Shannon Stephens will all play, starting at 5 p.m. Adult tickets are $20 at the event, youth (ages 12-20) are $10 and kids under 12 are free. Fly-in Fireworks: The Arlington Fly-In is Friday and Saturday. There will be a special fireworks airshow Saturday night as a thank you to the Stillaguamish Valley community for its efforts after the recent mudslide in Oso. Team Rocket combines high-speed aerobatics with a fireworks display set to the music “Stars in the Sky.” A jazz concert featuring MOJO starts at 7 p.m. and is followed by the airshow at 9:45 p.m. Admission is $15 for the day and all children 15 and under are free. Goatalympics: See goats show of their skills at the Goatalympics from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen State Fairgrounds. And of course there will be adorable goats to meet. Get more info in our story here.
Look for sea creatures: The tides are the lowest they’ll be all month this weekend, and the low tides are at convenient times. Check out sea creatures a bit before noon each day. Mukilteo, Kayak Point or Edmonds are all great places to find cool critters. Low tide is about 11:20 on Saturday and noon on Sunday. Get more info in our story here.
Run: Here’s the concept: Run a 5K through a rainbow. The first wave of runners will be showered in powdered dye as they begin at 9 a.m. Saturday morning in downtown Lake Stevens in a Run or Dye event. They will continue to get color-blasted throughout the course until crossing the finish line in a color storm. To register, go here.
Art by the Bay: Now in its 22nd year, the Stanwood-Camano Arts Guild Festival of Art and Music features 100 juried artists and craftspeople from around the Northwest and includes live music, garden art and gourmet food. Shindig in Sultan: The 31st annual Sultan Summer Shindig is Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with its biggest day on Saturday, complete with grand parade, classic car show and an intense logger competition. The logging show begins at 1 p.m. with competitions in speed climbing, axe throwing and cross-cut sawing. Saturday night there is the Show at the Gazebow and performances by Lip Sync Encore and the headlining band Free Rain. A fireworks show follows. More info in our story here.
Music at the Marina: Head down to Port Gardner Landing Saturday night and catch Ian McFeron, a singer/songwriter from Seattle, as part of the Music at the Marina summer series. Enjoy free live outdoor music, delicious food and drinks and a great outdoor dance floor. McFeron takes the stage at 6:30 p.m.
Bremerton Summer Brewfest: Hop on the Bremerton Ferry and head over to the peninsula to catch some great beers on Saturday. The Bremerton Summer Brewfest starts at noon and features 30 Washington breweries, including Mukilteo’s Diamond Knot Brewing. Tickets are $25 at the door and includes at tasting cup and six tokens good for a 5-ounce taster. Military discount tickets and designated driver tickets are available. More info here.
For dogs: OK, it’s for dogs and their humans. Poochapalooza is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Strawberry Fields Park, 6100 152nd St. NE, Marysville. Enjoy a fashion show, Wiener dogs race, flyball exhibitions and lots more. A $5 donation is suggested, but not required. First 500 visitors will get a goody bag. Get more info here.
Cute and cuddly: Meet animals from around the world with a traveling zoo from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Everett Public Library’s main branch. Pet a wallaby, cuddle a bunny and meet goats, lambs and lots more.
Wine walk: Wander around downtown Snohomish and taste wine from 5 to 8 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door and include 8 tastes. Bring your own glass. Get more info or buy tickets here.
