EVERETT — Police detained multiple people and arrested one on warrants after reports of gunfire in the 2200 block of Hoyt Avenue on Wednesday evening.
Numerous people called 911 at about 7:15 p.m. to report seeing a young man fire multiple shots at a passing vehicle, Everett police spokesman officer Aaron Snell said.
Officers found multiple bullet casings in the street. Witnesses said the person who fired the shots came out of one of the homes on the block, began shooting at the vehicle, and then ran back toward the house.
Officers blocked off the area and went into the home and detained several people, but did not find the gunman, whom they believe is about 17, Snell said. By late evening they had not been contacted by the people who reportedly were shot at, he added.
