EVERETT — Four tank cars carrying liquefied petroleum gas derailed Thursday evening on Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks in Everett.
The cars remained upright, and hazardous-materials teams found no evidence of any leaks, railroad spokesman Gus Melonas said.
The incident was reported about 6 p.m. Thursday at the switching yard in the 1900 block of W. Marine View Drive, along the waterfront near Naval Station Everett
The Everett Fire Department also responded.
A team of heavy equipment operators got the cars back on the tracks shortly after midnight, Melonas said. The tracks were repaired, and that segment of the switching yard was reopened early Friday.
