I do not often write letters like this to the editor, but I have been reading about the upcoming primary for state representative to the 21st Legislative District (Position 1). I was surprised to see such a wide field (five candidates), but also reassured to see a name I could trust among the group: Strom Peterson.
Peterson, an Edmonds City Council member, has been working tirelessly for the last five and a half years to find ways to improve our communities and to put the needs of the whole community first. He is engaged, as an elected official should be, participating in community events and volunteering for county-based charities and organizations, and he has been responsive to his constituents, focusing on the needs and concerns of citizens from all areas and groups. He never seems to lose his patience or avoid difficult challenges, and he has demonstrated a strong ability to work with people across a wide spectrum of backgrounds. Rep. Roberts chose well to endorse Strom to take her seat in the state House because we need his kind of resolve and commitment to the citizens of Edmonds, Mukilteo and the rest of the 21st Legislative District.
