SNOHOMISH — Lowell-Snohomish River Road is to shut down intermittently this week for the filming of a movie.
The brief closures are expected between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday as crews shoot “Captain Fantastic.”
Viggo Mortensen, known for his role as Aragorn in the “Lord of The Rings” trilogy, plays a father who must return to his six children and society after a decade of living off the grid in the Pacific Northwest’s forests.
The Snohomish County Department of Public Works said Square Planet has permission to shut down Lowell-Snohomish River Road west of Airport Road for up to 10 minutes at a time for filming. Off-duty deputies are expected to control each end of the closure. There is a plan for emergency vehicle access.
