Poison kills Oregon police dog
The sheriff told the East Oregonian newspaper that the Umatilla Police Department will handle the investigation.
Sheriff’s deputy Lindsey Evans was the dog’s handler and posted about the death on Facebook late Tuesday. She said the German shepherd named Yosh died in her arms.
The newspaper reports that Yosh played a key role in the capture of murder suspect Lukah Chang in August 2013. Chang was in the Pendleton Convention Center and surrendered moments after the dog entered the building and began barking.
