My concern is about how homeless people are treated in our society. Yes, we have many churches that serve them community dinners, and the Baptist Church of Everett lets people take showers on Fridays. The men’s mission has showers certain hours during the week. In the men’s mission, you have to pay $5 a night to stay. Well, my question is: what if you are homeless and have no job or can’t get a job? What are they supposed to do? You are left are on your own looking for a place to stay where it is warm and cozy but the only place is the street?
I think the government should invest some money to buy a building with beds and showers, and provide food there as well. Teach people skills like reading, writing and math — help them regain their self-esteem. We also need to hire people who can relate to them. For we are all created equal in God’s eyes. I am a voice calling for you to help.
