SACO, Maine — Police say five members of a Maine family have been found dead.
State police spokesman Steve McCausland says the bodies of a father, mother and three children were found Sunday afternoon inside an apartment in downtown Saco.
McCausland says state and local police are on the scene, along with the medical examiner.
No other details were immediately released. McCausland says additional information will be released later.
Saco is a city of about 18,000 people in southern Maine, about 10 miles southwest of Portland.
The neighborhood in which the bodies were found lies along the Saco River, not far from the Saco police station. The department referred questions to state police.
