Man who drowned in Snohomish River identified

SNOHOMISH — A man who drowned in the Snohomish River on Sunday has been identified as Derek M. Harrison, 21, of Kenmore.
Police say Harrison was with a group of people having a party on a sand bar on the river, near Snohomish. Their canoe capsized, and Harrison didn’t surface.
His death was ruled an accident, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
