Cider Summit Seattle
The fifth anniversary of the Cider Summit Seattle takes place 3 to 8 p.m. Sept. 5 at South Lake Union Discovery Center in Seattle. There will be 32 different cidermakers on hand to guide guests through samplings (4-ounce tasters). Tickets are $25 for general admission in advance and $35 for VIP, which includes four extra tasting tokens and early admission on Friday for the VIP hour. General admission tickets are $30 at the door (cash only). They can be purchased via Stranger Tickets, at all Seattle metro area Whole Foods locations, Umpqua Bank South Lake Union, and at select bottleshops. VIP tickets are $35, available online via the event website.
The Art of Liqueurs
Ryan Hembree of Skip Rock Distillery in Snohomish is offering a workshop, “The Art of Liqueurs.” Two of Hembree’s liqueurs, a Nocino walnut liqueur and a raspberry liqueur, were recognized as “best in the west” by Sip NW Magazine in 2013. The classes are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 2 and 3 at the distillery in Snohomish. The fee is $345 and includes all class materials, beverages and foods. Great Pumpkin Beer Festival
Elysian Brewing is hosting its 10th annual Great Pumpkin Beer Festival on Oct. 3-4 at Elysian Brewery at 5510 Airport Way S., Seattle. There will be more than 80 pumpkin beers pouring, as well as local food trucks, pumpkin carving and other fall activities. Also a giant pumpkin, filled with Elysian pumpkin beer, sealed and conditioned ahead of time, will be tapped at the festival for all to enjoy. The festival is from 4 to 10 p.m. Oct. 3 and 2 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 4 and tickets are $28 for one day or $50 for two-day passes.
