MARYSVILLE — A Marysville man’s run from the law ended Friday when police caught him in his sister’s back yard.
A Washington State Patrol airplane team spotted the man on a motorcycle on I-5 just after 9:30 a.m., trooper Mark Francis said.
The motorcyclist and a silver car were racing, Francis said.
The motorcyclist was “going in and out of traffic, using all lanes,” he said.
The airplane followed the motorcyclist into Everett.
“No one’s chasing him,” Francis said. “He’s blowing stop signs, blowing red lights, driving on sidewalks, doing crazy stuff in Everett.”
The motorcyclist then drove northbound on Highway 529, prompting a brief pursuit with patrol cars.
The pursuit was called off when the bike reached 140 mph, Francis said.
The motorcyclist then drove into Marysville, where witnesses said he was driving erratically. Marysville police and troopers found him trying to hide the bike in his sister’s back yard, east of State Street.
The man, 28, was arrested and booked for investigation of reckless driving and eluding police. He also may face charges for being combative during his arrest.
