Weekend best bets: Lots of music, food, wine and more

Celebrate the Stilly: The annual Stillaguamish Festival of the River and Pow Wow is Saturday and Sunday* at River Meadows County Park on Jordan Road. Admission and parking are free. Gates open at 10 a.m. and salmon dinners are $5. Get more info in our story here.

Melt down: The 14th Summer Meltdown, one of the largest music festivals in the state, continues through Sunday at the Whitehorse Mountain Amphitheater in Darrington. Get the details in our story here.

Taste: The Taste of Edmonds is from Friday to Sunday. There will be tons of food, of course, as well as entertainment, crafts, rides and more. Get the details in our story here.

Strut: Celebrate the dog days of summer at the Mutt Strut, 10 a.m. Saturday at Langus Park in Everett. Dog lovers and their canine friends can enjoy a dog walk, dog-friendly vendors and racing and pet showcase competitions.

Frolic: Gold Bar’s Fancy Fronds Nursery holds its annual open house “frolic” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Organizers have lined up other nurseries and artists from across the region for the event.

Wine walk: Snohomish merchants host their fourth “Sunsets in Snohomish” wine walk on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. The bring-your-own-glass event is $12, which includes eight tastes of wine.

Home grown: The Marysville Street Festival is Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in downtown Marysville. Vendors will be offering handmade items and locally grown produce.

Taiko drums: Inochi Taiko, one of the finest taiko drumming troupes in the Northwest, will play a free concert at 2 p.m. Saturday on the lawn at the Evergreen Branch Library, 9512 Evergreen Way, Everett. Taiko drumming has ancient roots in Japan. Modern taiko requires intense physical and mental training.
