SPOKANE — Spokane starter Nick Gardewine pitched six scoreless innings to lead the Indians to a 8-3 win over the Everett AquaSox in Northwest League action Saturday night.
Gardewine allowed just two hits, struck out eight and walked two before handing the ball to the bullpen, which allowed three AquaSox runs over the eighth and ninth innings but ultimately closed the door as the Indians took home the series win.
Spokane collected 12 hits on the night, eight of which came off Everett starter Jeffeson Medina, who labored through six innings and gave up five runs, walked two and struck out six.
Third baseman Juremi Profar finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored for the Indians, including a two-run home run in the fourth inning.
Everett catcher Adam Martin finished 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored, and shortstop Taylor Smart went 1-for-3 with a RBI double.
The AquaSox head home to face the Indians in a three-game series beginning Sunday.
