EDMONDS — A woman suffered serious burns in a house fire in Edmonds on Tuesday, officials said.
The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. at a house in the 900 block of 218th Street SW, said Jerry Sheehan, a battalion chief with Snohomish County Fire District 1.
The woman, who appeared to be in her 40s, was rushed to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. Preliminary information indicated she had third-degree burns, Sheehan said.
The fire apparently started in the garage and moved into a living area in an addition above the garaged. Damage to those areas was extensive.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
