More impressive photos of recent lightning storm

Yesterday, I asked you to share photos and videos from Monday’s storm. And a number of you did. I was happy to see I’m not the only one who gets excited about lightning.

I received a few more photos that I can share with you.

First up are two pictures from Geoff Vlcek (At top and below.) You can find Geoff online here and here. And there’s a fun story about his photos of the Seattle Great Wheel here.

And here are photos shared by Mara and Keith Nelson. The photos are of their view from Camano Island. The shots are taken toward Stanwood and Warm Beach.

Thanks to everyone who shared photos and videos. If you want to send me more, I’m always interested to see them. You can reach me at jloerch@heraldnet.com.

Small side story: I may have been gushing about lightning at work a bit yesterday. At one point I exclaimed “Dude! Lightning. Is. So. Cool!” My coworker Quinn Brown, who has been writing about marijuana recently, looked at me and said “Are you high?” No, no, not high. Just a tad excitable.

Would you want to give something as elaborate as this a name as mundane as “bread box”? A French Provincial piece practically demands the French name panetiere.
A panetiere isn’t your modern bread box. It’s a treasure of French culture

This elaborately carved French antique may be old, but it’s still capable of keeping its leavened contents perfectly fresh.
