Enjoy craft beer, food trucks in Everett this weekend

This is the third year that downtown Everett will be crawling with craft beer fans on a Saturday afternoon in August.

This year the festival is focusing on fruit. Brewers coming to the third annual festival, held this Saturday, were told to bring their best fruit beers. A number obliged and are bringing beers brewed with raspberries, blackberries, strawberries and more.

A few of the fruit beers that will be pouring on Saturday include: Huckleberry Hound Cream Ale from Foggy Noggin Brewing, Mowie Wowie, an ale brewed with mangoes and oranges, from Gallaghers Where U Brew, and Rubus Robustus Blackberry Stout, from Whitewall Brewing.

This year’s festival features 33 breweries, including a late entry in Boundary Bay Brewing, pouring over 100 different beers. Boundary Bay is bringing Whatcom Wheat Krystalweizen, a collaboration beer by all nine Bellingham breweries.

The festival is from noon to 7 p.m. and will take place on Hoyt between Hewitt and Pacific. Advance tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Brown Paper Tickets online or $25 at the door ($15 with military ID). Entry includes a tasting cup and six tokens, each one good for a 5-ounce taster. Additional tokens can be purchased for $1.50 each or four for $5.

After drinking your way through the craft beer festival on Saturday, you might need some exercise. The Bubble Run 5K will do the trick.

There’s plenty of bubbles and color in this run. The Bubble Run 5K is Sunday morning at 9 a.m. in downtown Everett. The cost to participate starts at $40.
