SEATTLE — A 22-year-old faces a sentence of more than 51 years in prison for a fatal gang shooting in Seattle.
The Seattle Times reported that D’Angelo Saloy was convicted last week of murder in the death of 15-year-old Quincy Coleman who was shot on Halloween night in 2008 near Garfield High School.
Police said Coleman was a member of a Central Area gang and Saloy was a member of a south Seattle gang who was looking to avenge the shooting death of a friend. Saloy also was convicted of attempted murder for wounding a second teen.
Saloy was arrested for the shootings in 2012 as he left prison after serving time on assault and weapons convictions. He’ll be sentenced Sept. 10 and faces a range of 51 to 64 years.
