Roosters nothing compared to jets
Regarding the article, “Rooster complaints prompt County Council to look at noise zone”: While I certainly empathize with Snohomish County residents subjected to roosters crowing in the early morn, think how annoyed they will be if commercial airplanes are allowed to fly over their homes at any given hour, day or night. Annoyed doesn't begin to describe how they will feel.
Nor is it a strong enough word to explain their displeasure if they are asked to pay more taxes to compensate for the reduced taxes (lower property values = lower assessed value = lower taxes) paid by homeowners directly affected by airport noise, pollution and increased traffic, that is, most of southern Snohomish County.
Are you willing to shoulder a possible tax increase — or experience a reduction in county services — so that a few people can save less than hour a few times a year to get to an airport for their trip to Vegas? Or so that a Denny's can be built on Airport Road?
