Those who use rail should pay for upgrades

Regarding the July article, “Marysville faces traffic nightmare with more trains”: I agree the more trains through Marysville the worse the gridlock will be. There is only one answer, the people who use it should pay to build a new rail in another location. The rail itself will make lots of money transporting both oil and coal. The refinery should also help pay, and even the coal and oil industry, not the taxpayer. While I am not an environmental wacko, I think it is up to those who use the service to pay for it. Why should those people living in Marysville suffer the consequences?

Same thing with Seattle and public transportation. Those who use the service should pay for it. Why should people who drive their own cars have to subsidize the cost of public transportation? We as car owners have already paid enough in the cost of the car, gas, insurance and maintenance. There is no reason why the people that use the service should not pay their own way.
