SPOKANE — A marijuana-shop owner in Ephrata is being sued by a media empire that labels itself as the biggest brand name in pot.
The parent company of the magazine High Times filed a lawsuit Monday against shop owner Richard Reimers and his business, previously called High Time Station. The Spokesman Review reports the magazine is claiming trademark infringement.
In the lawsuit, Trans-High Corp. claims Reimers used “High Time” in his store’s name in an effort to deceive the public into thinking there was a connection between the shop and the publication.
Reimers has changed the name of his business to Cannarail. His lawyer declined to comment on the complaint.
