Last Saturday, Aug. 23, The Brett Jensen Memorial Walk and Run 6 was held at Legion Memorial Park in north Everett. On a perfectly clear, beautiful morning, a record crowd turned out to remember Brett and help raise some funds for his scholarship foundation. Over the last 11 years, the foundation has awarded nearly $100,000 to high school seniors through the Everett Rotary Club and Cascade High School.
There are so many groups and individuals who deserve our thanks for their support, generosity and participation: The city of Everett, the Everett Parks and Recreation Department, the Brett Jensen Committee members, friends, family, business sponsors, the Cascade High School sports teams, and the Alverson and Grand neighborhoods. Also, thanks to all those individuals and businesses who donated items to the very successful silent auction.
We would have liked to have said hello, shook the hand, or given a hug to everyone who took the time and effort to be there on Saturday. Please know that we felt your love and appreciated your presence.
Please visit our website at brettjensen.wordpress.com to learn much more about the scholarship program and the walk and run.
