As summer draws to a close, we would really be amiss if we did not acknowledge our amazing community partners in Snohomish and all that they do for our kids.
Each day since school ended, we have had the opportunity to take our Snohomish Boys &Girls Club kids to the high school for a hot and healthy breakfast. Not only that, at lunch time the Mobile Kids Café has delivered a hot lunch to our kids, as well as four other locations in the area. This has been such an amazing gift to our families and has really taken a burden off of the shoulders of our parents. Thank you so much to the Snohomish School District and Sodexo for continuing to facilitate the Kids Café program. As a part of this program, kids were able to earn free passes to the Aquatic Center as well — which is very exciting!
Also this year, our kids have been lucky enough to participate in the Book Café, which is a school bus which has been transformed into a mobile library. Every Tuesday, kids are able to pick free books to keep. The children are so excited each time the bus comes and are actually requesting more reading time! Thank you to teacher Jenny Granger and the Snohomish Education Foundation!
Lastly, last week 71 of our children were able to pick out a brand new backpack, filled with everything they need to start the school year off right. Thank you to the Snohomish Food Bank and countless volunteers for making sure our kids have the tools they need to be successful. We are very lucky to have such a giving community who see value in taking care of our youth. Thank you!
